(James 5:16-20) Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed.
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
When I first came to GOD I use to try to be like other Christians, the way I worshiped GOD, and in prayer!
But I found out that your relationship with GOD depends on how well you communicate with him!
And prayer is not you trying to sound like them, prayer is you talking to GOD just like you talk to me, except JESUS is more real than I am!
Prayer is you being real with a real GOD, because GOD is so real!
Prayer is the key to having a personal a relationship with GOD, prayer is how you communicate with GOD!~
And can’t nobody teach you how to pray, because prayer is between you and GOD alone, and there is no special way to pray to GOD!
I talk to GOD like I’m talking to a person standing right next to me, and sometimes it looks strange to my kids, like I’m talking to myself, and now my daughters just say, dad your talking to GOD aren’t you!…….
But I keep it real with JESUS, I tell him everything, I tell him when I’m weak, when I’m angry, when I feel like punching somebody in face, when I fall, when I’m happy, when I’m mad, I don’t hide anything from my JESUS/GOD!
When I come to JESUS I come real, and he keeps it real with me!
Because our relationship is built on trust, and I trust him with all my failures, shortcomings, weaknesses, and my life!
And I don’t have to worry about JESUS telling other people my secrets, because we don’t have any secrets, we lay everything on the table!
But one thing I have noticed about GOD is that he does not like copy-cats, JESUS does not want you trying to sound like someone else, and act like somebody else!…….lol!
Have you ever been around a person who acts like someone else you know, and they try to be like that person in everything they do!
That’s like living another person’s life, because you’re not happy with your own life, and you can’t even be real with people or GOD, because you’re living a lie!
When I first came to GOD I was trying to be religious like the people in the church I was going to, and I was frustrated as hell!
I was praying to GOD in frustration, and GOD had to tell me, Reese, be yourself, stop trying to be like them!
And I stopped trying to serve GOD the way other people serve GOD, and I had unlearn everything I thought I knew about GOD from other people!
I had to build my own personal relationship with JESUS CHRIST through my own personal prayer life, through reading and studying his word!
And prayer is not you just talking constantly to GOD, you have to be quiet after you have said everything you had to say to GOD, because GOD wants to say some things to you too!
Prayer is not just you talking to GOD, prayer is you talking to GOD, you listening, and you patiently waiting for GOD to talk back to you, however he chooses!~
People, it’s alright for people to pray for you, but can’t nobody pray for you like you can pray for yourself, because only you know everything that’s going on in your own life!
And there is not enough time in a day to tell people everything you need them to pray for you about, Because you got issues, I got issues, they got issues, and all of our issues together will take a life time to pray about!…….lol
And people, let everything you do be in the name of JESUS, especially your prayers, because the power is in JESUS name, and you can’t even come to GOD or know GOD unless you know JESUS according to
His word.
(1. John 5:14-15) And this is the confidence that we have in JESUS, that if we ask anything according to his will, JESUS hears us.
And if we know that JESUS hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the request that we desire to receive from him.
(Hebrews 4:16) Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in the time of need.
