Great leaders are not made, there are born the way they are, and they become great, because greatness is already in them, even before they come to know and understand who they are themselves.
Great leaders know great leaders before they become great, because they can see the potential of greatness in them, before they can see it in themselves.
JESUS and JOHN the Baptist are the definition of what a great leader is, and what a great leader can become.
For only a great leader will decrease so someone else who is greater than him can increase.
Only a great leader will become less for someone with the potential of greatness in them, can become more.
It takes a great teacher, and a great man, to see the potential of greatness in other people, when they cannot see it in themselves.
It takes a great leader to look at flawed- damaged-imperfect-individuals, and say to them greater works shall you do, because I go to the Father.
It takes a great leader to be great in his own right, but see the greatness in another person, and then say, “I must decrease so he can increase.”
Brothers and sisters, we don’t have many leaders like this today, not in this generation, but they all claim to be followers of JESUS CHRIST, yet they are nothing like CHRIST JESUS.
(Philippians 2.5-8) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
(John 6:15) When JESUS therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.
(Mark:10.42-45) But JESUS called the disciples unto him, and said unto them, You know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.
But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:
And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
(Matthew 23:2-12) JESUS SAYS, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not you after their works: for they say, and do not.
For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi((Master, Master)).
But be not you called Rabbi((Master)): for one is your Master, even Christ; and all you are brethren.
And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
Neither do you be called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
Brothers and sisters, great leaders like JESUS and John the Baptist are seldom seen in your church buildings, or among your religious leaders, for they all want to be great, but not many of them can decrease so someone else can increase.
Not many of them can Let this mind be in them, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.
Not many men are like JESUS or John the Baptist, for not many men are great leaders, and neither can they recognize the potential of greatness in other people, because they are not really great, they’re just trying to be great at being something they’re not.
Brothers and sisters, just think about this, JESUS ministry only lasted 3 years, he told his disciples, they would do greater works than him, because he went to be with the father.
And the disciples did greater works than JESUS, for they took the gospel of JESUS CHRIST all around the world.
And they set the world on fire with the true gospel of JESUS CHRIST.
(John14:12) JESUS SAYS, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
